History of Brookline, Massachusetts

Brookline is a small town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Bordered by Newton (the Middlesex County) to the southwest and Boston (part of Suffolk County) other than that, it was actually co-exist with other parts of Norfolk County. From the 2000 census, the city population was 57,107.
First inhabited in the early 1600s as part of Boston, Massachusetts, known as the hamlet of Muddy River, Brookline incorporated as an independent town in 1705.

President John F. Kennedy was born here.
