History PT. Indonesian Railways

PT Train ApiIndonesia (Limited) is a State Owned Indonesia providing rail freight services. CF Rail Services Indonesia (Persero) includes transport of passengers and goods. In late March 2007, the House passed the revised Law. 13/1992 which confirms that private investors and local governments are given the opportunity to manage the rail freight services in Indonesia. On August 14, 2008 PT Indonesia Railways (Limited) to separate Division Jabotabek a PT Rail Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) to manage a commuter train in Jakarta and surrounding areas. during 2008 the number of passengers exceeds 197 million.

The enactment of Law No. Railways. 23/2007 a law ending the monopoly of PT Indonesia Railways (Limited) to operate trains in Indonesia. On 28 September 2011, to coincide with the commemoration of the birthday-66, KAI launched a new logo.

After the proclamation of Indonesian independence was played on August 17, 1945, employees of the railway company incorporated in the Armed Moeda Railways (Amka) took over the railways of Japan.

On 28 September 1945, reading statement by Ismail and several other Amka members confirmed that from that day the railway authority was in the hands of the Indonesian nation that Japan had no right to interfere in Indonesia's railways. This is what underlies the enactment date of 28 September 1945 as the day and the establishment Djawatan Railways Railways Repoeblik Indonesia (DKARI).

DKARI name was changed to the State Railway Company (PNKA). The name was changed again to the Railway Bureau Company (PJKA) on 15 September 1971. On January 2, 1991, the name was officially changed to PJKA General Railway Company (Perumka) and since June 1, 1999 was changed to PT Indonesia Railways (Limited) until now.
